Man, that's some—he said taking a drink from a water main, or a fire hose... I'm telling you, I'm sitting, you know, because I know that, when he's done, I have to come up here, too. But I want to come up. I'm thinking, “You know, I could sit here. I'm enjoying what he's saying.” And then he's talking about receiving the Holy Ghost, the foundation, and I was thinking, “You know, when I was a kid, I used to see people, as they say, down South, I don't know about up North, they said, 'Yeah, so-and-so got the Holy Ghost on them.” But, you know what? let me tell you something: The Holy Ghost might be on you, but it doesn't mean it's in you. Because, the only way you can get the Holy Ghost in you, and living in you, in your physical body, your soul, is to be baptized. If you've not been baptized, you don't have the Holy Ghost. You may have had It upon you, overshadow you, but It's not in you. That wasn't in my message. I couldn't let that go. I couldn't let that go.

Let's pray:

God, we thank You for the opportunity, oh God, to be a part of this great ministry. And, these two men, these two warriors that You have as fellowship leaders, Brother Parrish Lee, Brother Andy Giebler, allowing us to share their pulpit. Amen. Lord, we just pray to be with You, to honor You, and the words we speak come from You. Lord, cut out all the other stuff that we don't really need to say, and leave in everything that we need to hear. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.

Worship.

Part 1: What is Worship?

Part 2: Why Do We Worship?

Part 3: Who Do We Worship?

Part 1: What is Worship?

The Strong's definition, which is in Hebrew, H7812—that's the number, if you want to check your Strong's. שָׁחָה (shâchâh, shaw-khaw') to weigh down, cause to bow. A primitive root; to depress, that is, prostrate (especially reflexively in homage to royalty or God): - bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship.

So, I was on-line, as you would be if you were doing some research, or maybe there's a reference library... I was on-line, and I saw this different definition for worship. But I do like the Hebrew word... But, I kind of came up with a definition for me—maybe you like it, or maybe you don't—so, I'll read it: Worship is giving our all to the One who gave His all that we may live a life unto Him in thanksgiving and praise. Worship is giving our all to the One who gave His all that we may live a life unto Him in thanksgiving and praise.

I'm going to read some Scriptures. You don't have to turn to them, it's going to be, kind of, hard to follow along. But, then, if you want to see them, I can put them on the board, or put them on the table. So don't be so concerned about it, because this will be more—I hate to subject you to it, but you'll probably just listen to my voice a lot. Hopefully it won't offend you, but it will minister.

Psalms 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Psalms 69:30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Before we go to section two, there's a word, I was speaking of, the Jewish word, Barak, in English. (H1288 בָּרַךְ {bârak baw-rak'}) A primitive root; to kneel or to bow; to give reverence to God (as an act of adoration), implies a continual conscious giving place to God, to be attuned to Him and His presence.

All day, every day, we've heard God with our minds, and we have to bring our flesh into subjection. This goes towards our foundation, what our brothers have been saying, it's an every day thing. It's an all the time thing. It's not an 'in over here,' and 'out over here.' You're in, you're in; you're out, you're out. If it's a fence there, you can't sit on top. It divides into two sides; you've got to pick. Pick which team you're going to be on, amen? What do they call it? Shirts or Skins for basketball players.

Part 2: Why Do We Worship?

a. We need God and the benefits He offers.

Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

And, so, without God, you're going to faint. Without God, you're going to get weary. But don't be weary in your well-doing, amen, for, in due season you will reap, if you faint not (Galatians 6:9). There's that word, again, faint. How is you can faint not? You got to be held out. Choose your side. Have a made-up mind. Amen.

b. We need His help for our lives.

Matthew 15:21-25 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon. And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

Now think about it. She worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me.” So, I'm thinking just like you're thinking, “Oh, so I can worship the Lord by presenting my need before Him. I can say, 'Oh, God, help me! I need You right now!'” You're laying down your life, you're laying down your thoughts, you're laying down your own supposed ability to do what you think you need to do, and saying, “Oh, God, I need You to help me. You've got what I need! I realize that I can't do it. Amen, amen. I can almost see.

You know, Kenny started it off, and I was about to go home, because I was already crying. It isn't so much that we don't know that we can do something, it's just that sometimes we need a touch from those who have the anointing, and say, “Hey, tag, you're it!” Then we get to take those talents and those abilities, and put them out, spread the Word that these men can't do alone. He can't come to my job, because he's on his job. He can't come to his job, because he's on his job (pointing to different people). We can't come to your job. It takes all of us, spreading that seed, amen? Wherever it falls, it falls.

Psalms 29:2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

Psalms 95:6 O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.

Part 3: Who Do We Worship?

I thought you'd never ask.

John 4:23-24 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God is not a rock; God is not a tree, God is not an automobile, He's not a house or a car. God is not your wife; God is not your husband, God is not your kids, and He's certainly not your dog. Here, in America, we place dogs above humans, right?

As a reminder, Isaiah 43:1-12. I read this the other day, and I couldn't even breathe. I'll try to read it without error; pray for me.

Isaiah 43:1-12 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. [Who do we worship?] When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life. Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west; I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him. Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears. Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth. Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

Isaiah 43:13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

So, imagine trying to worship, standing before a golden calf. “Hey, brother, where did you come up with that one from?” Not me. It represents worldly lusts. The Wailing Wall that they have in Israel—if you've ever been there, they have a Wailing Wall where you go to pray, it represents your troubles and your complaints in Israel. Or, perhaps before strange or familiar faces, distractions; it shouldn't really matter what your sister says, sitting next to you, or your brother—you're before God. Amen? When we come before God to worship, there is a preparation of our hearts and minds:

Psalms 51:7-12 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. [That same Holy Spirit you got through baptism. Amen. You can't get it no other kind of way. I don't care what anybody tells you. I don't care what TBN, HBN, CNN, whatever NN, you cannot get the Holy Ghost if you're not baptized, living in you. I want to say that again, because there might be some doubters in here. You can get mad at me, and that's okay, because I know it's in the Word.] Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Brother Jason? Brother Greg? I need your help. We're going to—there's another word: Tehillah. I may be saying it WRONG—It's a beautiful word—and it's associated with worship and praise. It means to sing hâlal, which, I believe, Hallelujah comes from. And, it says, right here, “a new song, a hymn of spontaneous praise, glorifying God in song.”

Psalms 149:1 Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

So, you know, as I close, I thought to myself, “Now, I gave you this kind of generic definition for worship...”—where are my young people? Joseph, Jailed? So, I thought, you know telling you all this Jewish praise and worship stuff, and it says, “Sing a new song,” so, guess what we're going to do? Sing a new song. So, I mentioned it to Andy, but Andy never heard the song. I don't even know if I mentioned it to Parrish. Maybe I did, or not. But, you know, I'm up here now. I may be pulled off, but you'll be singing this morning, praising Him. I'm just saying. I'm going to hum it for you, and, just so you know, the chorus, you do it four times, the same thing four times. The verse; I'm telling you this—I'm going to show you, too, but I'm telling you so that you kind of have it in your mind; the verse is pretty much the same thing, the only thing that changes is the next to the last word in each line. It's all the same. By the way, this song is not yet written. It's a new song; nobody has ever heard it.

(Chorus)

Lord, we worship You our savior, Lord we worship you.

Lord, we worship You our savior, Lord we worship you.

Lord, we worship You our savior, Lord we worship you.

Lord, we worship You our savior, Lord we worship you.

(Verse)

With all of our hearts,

With all of our minds,

With all of our souls,

We praise You.

With all of our hearts,

With all of our minds,

With all of our souls,

We love You.

With all of our hearts,

With all of our minds,

With all of our souls,

We bless You.

With all of our hearts,

With all of our minds,

With all of our souls,

We need You.
